When Reilly launched HostiFi back in 2018, Ubiquiti was one of the only companies offering an affordable solution for software-defined-networking. While there were other SDN platforms out there, such as Cisco Meraki and offerings from Aruba nothing else was like UniFi, with cost effective hardware and most importantly - no licensing. In the years since, HostiFi has diversified and starting offering UNMS (now UISP) servers too, for all of Ubiquiti's provider devices.

Omada

However, following on from the success of UniFi, TP-Link started with Omada in 2017, a very similar product to UniFi with PoE switches, gateways and wireless access points. The terminology and usability are very similar - as is the process of getting devices adopted, restoring from backups and more. Over on our support site, we already have some guides to help you get familiarised with the platform.

Starting today, HostiFi is proud to announce we are now offering servers for Omada. After a few weeks of pre-orders to determine interest, we are now launching support. Pricing is the same as UniFi and UISP, with $99 per month for 250 devices, scaling up from there with plans to meet your needs.

Why Omada?

In the last few years, people have had issues getting stock of UniFi devices and have been turning to other alternatives and Omada seems to fit that need. Also for smaller residential deployments, the cost to entry with Omada is much less than it is with UniFi, which will help some MSPs make a sale and still make money on the install costs.

Many of our customers have expressed interest in seeing HostiFi offer a Omada product and we're happy to announce we have done just that!
