We have recently launched the brand new HostiFi Device Discovery Tool, something we like to think of the the direct replacement for the old Ubiquiti Discovery Tool. Ubiquiti used to have an old Chrome based application available which was primarily designed to help you find any Ubiquiti devices on your local network, either in the UISP or UniFi family and then be able to adopt them to a UniFi controller by simply providing the inform URL.
Long story short, Google has pulled the plug Chrome Apps, so you can’t download it at all and it is impossible to run and we decided to make a replacement. The whole process started at the end of 2020 when Reilly Chase asked people on X whether or not such an app would be useful to people. Unfortunately, due to some issues the project was put on hold for three years until January 2023 when Richie was hired to help out with the project. Ben then joined the team to help push the app to release.

What does this app do?
The current beta iteration of the HostiFi Device Discovery Tool is essentially our replacement for the old Ubiquiti Discovery Tool. So at the core, it is designed to help you find Ubiquiti devices ready to be adopted on your local network. These are the current features:

- Adopt UniFi devices to a controller with one simple click

Update April 2024: The HostiFi Device Discovery Tool is now available! Download it here for macOS, iOS, Windows, Android and Linux.
