Ubiquiti releases 8.0.19 for all U7 APs to address connectivity issues
Ubiquiti has had a rocky few months with its latest WiFi 7 APs, new firmware should hopefully fix things
March 7, 2025
Ubiquiti has recently expanded its line of WiFi 7 APs for UniFi. The latest one is the U7 Lite, which uses the same body as the outgoing U6 Lite, so existing mounts should work without issue. The U7 Lite costs $99 in the US or £94.80 in the UK and is available to purchase now.

The U7 Lite doesn't support 6GHz, Ubiquiti has instead reserved this for its larger U7 Pro and U7 Pro Max APs. The intended target market and price point for the U7 Lite isn't going to necessarily have the need for the additional band, but 801.11be (WiFi 7) has various improvements over AC and AX. For example, 5GHz can now handle up to 240MHz channel widths, which in turn, bumps the max data rates up to 4.3 Gbps.
To cope with the increased wireless capacity, Ubiquiti has also fitted the U7 Lite with a 2.5GbE ethernet port.
HostiFi provides hosting for both Ubiquiti and TP-Link software-defined-networking (SDN) applications, with servers for UniFi, UISP and Omada. We also offer network consulting, with HostiFi Pro.
