Now, the UXG Fiber shares the same chassis as the Cloud Gateway Fiber, which means it has seven interfaces. With four 2.5GbE switch ports, one 10GbE RJ45 and two 10G SFP+ ports. This is also the first UXG device with a built in PoE output, meaning PoE+ UniFi APs can be powered or PoE powered switches, such as the Flex Mini, making small deployments simpler to install. The UXG Fiber has just the one PoE+ output, which can power devices up to 30W.

It also isn't short on routing performance. With IDS/IPS enabled, Ubiquiti is claiming 5Gbps+ which is actually more than the UXG Pro, which is capable of 3.5Gbps. Also, like the UXG Pro, the UXG Fiber can handle 55,000+ signatures with CyberSecure enabled.

The new UXG Fiber is a welcome addition to the dedicated gateway lineup and is priced at $279 in the US or £274.80 in the UK and is compatible with HostiFi UniFi servers.
