Ubiquiti stops offering free UISP Cloud Hosting

Ubiquiti has this week released UniFi Network 7.4.156 to general availability. This release changes a few things in the controller and adds a few new features for users with the UXG Pro or the UDM devices. Here at HostiFi, we are actively testing the stability of this release, but customers launching new servers as of today will have 7.4.156 installed from the start.
For existing customers, our devolpmment team is reviewing the stability of 7.4.156 and once it is deemed so, servers will be upgraded. More infomaiton about this release can be found on the official Ubiquiti Community post, as well as our YouTube video.
One of the main changes to this version of UniFi, is how the Guest hotspot settings are accessed. It now has a dedicated tab on the left-hand side, with a new portal design, simplified access to data about connected clients and more.
For VPN servers, Ubiquiti has now opened up support for OpenVPN, in addition to Wireguard and L2TP. OpenVPN provides better performance than using L2TP, with less CPU load.
The way VLANs are managed within UniFi has changed again. It is an easier process than before, without the need to make new port profiles, VLANs can be untagged and tagged per port but the naming process for people used to VLANs can be a bit confusing at first.
Something coming soon to UniFi is network override. Unfortunately it does require a version of UniFi OS for the UXG Pro that is in beta currently. Once this is available, it provides the abilty to change the VLAN a device is on, without changing the SSID. This feature would be very helpful for IoT devices, for example.
With previous versions of UniFi, there was a traffic map available, to view the threats coming into the network. However, it was removed some time ago. With 7.4.156 it makes a return and allows you to view all the traffic and to which countries it is going to or coming from.
The last thing is the new connectivity tab. This shows you the health of the clients connected, if DHCP is being handled in a timely manor, any issues with clients and more.
HostiFi provides hosting for both Ubiquiti and TP-Link software-defined-networking (SDN) applications, with servers for UniFi, UISP and Omada. We also offer professional networking consulting, with HostiFi Pro.
